Into Summer

 Cullman,  AL

Not much going on around here.  Same old, same old.   Sunday its church.  Monday afternoon it's lunch, jam session and dancing at the Active Adult Center in town. Wednesday it's lunch and Bingo at Cullman Senior Center then Bible Study at night. Thursday its lunch and music and dancing at Cullman Senior Center.  Friday nights it's usually out for dinner then music and dancing at 55 EAST in nearby town of Eva.  Tuesday and Saturday is catch up with yard and housework (maybe).

Still hosting RVs.  Getting to the slow season.   Most RVers have headed north to get out of this Alabama heat.   Number 490th left yesterday.  At this time only one reservation on the schedule.  Most unusual.  But that is always subject to change at a moments notice.

Two of our favorite "frequent flyers" are Karen and Jim Reeves.   Afraid their visits are coming to an end.  They bought a permanent home in Florida and will be selling their motorhome.  It was good while it lasted.

Always something to fix or change around the house.  We had two trees that needed taking down.  One was completely dead, the other headed that way and we were afraid that if it fell it would wipe out our car port.

Len has been busy taking out smaller trees that are just nuisances.  And clearing some brush in a wooded area.  I continue with the mowing and weed whacking.  This Spring its rain two days, mow two days, rain two days, mow two, repeat.

I am trying to keep the birdfeeders full.   Impossible as they are raided on a regular basis.

We attended a birthday dinner at son Lennies and DIL Lois for granddaughter Maddie's boyfriend Tyler.  Tyler requested a crawfish boil.   This tub held twice as many when we arrived.

Then they went for a hot swim.

Even though I do enjoy eating crawfish, I don't enjoy the work to get at the meat.  I only had a few.  Too much work, too messy.   I filled up on sausage off the grill.    As usual no picture of the people!

Things will get busier in a few days.   Our granddaughters arrive on Wednesday and here for 6 weeks.  Neither Abby nor Charlotte have even flown before.  At 16 and almost 19 they are arriving in Birmingham from Baltimore/Washington  Airport for their first experience.  They have come by train previously.  By plane is so much shorter.

Stay cool all and until next time.
